Zareba Systems Providing Perimeter Security System at Water Treatment Facilities in California Community

Minneapolis – Zareba Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZRBA) said it has received an order from one of its integrators for a perimeter security system at a water treatment facility in a southern California community. The project is being installed by BKM Technology Partners, based in Phoenix. The purchase price for the system was not disclosed.

The order follows a year-long test by the end-user of the Zareba Guard Tower® electronic perimeter security fence system. This second installation is currently in process, and will secure a half-mile perimeter. While this initial order alone is not expected to contribute a significant amount of revenue to Zareba Systems, the company believes that it represents an important step in its developing security systems business. In fact, BKM has indicated the community has up to 10 additional water treatment facilities that could utilize the Guard Tower® perimeter security system within the next 18 months.

“Water treatment facilities have been identified as part of our country’s crucial infrastructure,” said Jerry Grabowski, president and CEO of Zareba Systems. “As a result, we are seeing demand from water treatment facilities looking for perimeter protection.”

Through its Zareba Security subsidiary, the company customizes electronic security solutions to meet each installation’s security requirements. The system provides security solutions designed to deter, detect, delay, assess and respond to intrusions in a wide range of applications. Products include the Guard Tower® intrusion detection system and the Induced Pulse® Anti-Penetration System.

“This particular community tried other intrusion detection systems to secure its water supply and reservoirs and the false alarm rate was very high, and maintenance was difficult and expensive for general wear and tear,” said Grabowski. “The Zareba Guard Tower system passed a year-long test that the community had on one of its well sites with flying colors. The Guard Tower system is being evaluated by other water treatment facilities and we are expecting similar results,” Grabowski concluded.

The company manufactures its electronic perimeter security fence systems at its Ellendale, Minn., facility. Because Zareba Systems does not have installation capability, it contracts with integrators to work with the end user. In the case of the southern California community, the integrator is BKM.

“Zareba offers something that no one else does,” said Bart Katz, a partner with BKM, which provides its customers with industry leading technologies for perimeter security. “There are other products out there but nothing matches the Guard Tower as a perimeter intrusion detection system along with the ability to deter people from entry. “

There’s also a zero false alarm rate, which is a tremendous selling point. This saves huge amounts of manpower and expense because a facility doesn’t have to continually send someone out to check on a breach. All the other systems out there have fairly substantial amounts of false alarms,” Katz concluded.

Zareba Systems Receives Order for Guard Tower® Perimeter Intrusion Detection System at State-Owned Refinery in Dominican Republic

Minneapolis – Zareba Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZRBA) announced today it has received an order for a perimeter intrusion detection system to be installed at a state-owned refinery in the Dominican Republic. The mile-and-ahalf fence system is expected to be ship in December, 2006.

The product to be used at the refinery is an electrified Guard Tower® intrusion detection system, which can signal an intrusion with an accuracy of within 40 feet of actual. The system permits the user to control eight zones and 168 alarm points from a single networked location.

“This is an important new piece of business for Zareba Security,” said Jerry Grabowski, Zareba Systems President and Chief Executive Officer. “Our Guard Tower® matrix wire array intrusion detection system provides multiple and redundant forms of detection and deterrence. We are confident that this electric fence system will help provide the refinery with the security needed in today’s challenging environment.”

Zareba’s Guard Tower® system can be used on irregular terrain and mounted in a variety of ways on the underlying fence system. The system’s patent pending sensing device effectively filters nuisance alarms and can be integrated with other types of sensing systems as well as closed-circuit camera systems.

Zareba Security provides security solutions designed to deter, detect, delay, assess and respond to intrusions or escapes in a wide range of applications. The company has over 60 years of experience in perimeter control and is using this knowledge to serve the emerging security market.

Zareba Systems Completes Perimeter Security Testing by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Minneapolis – Zareba Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZRBA) recently completed its Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) at its Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, New Hampshire.

The CRADA was established in 2003 in conjunction with a range security project at CRREL. Zareba Systems and CRREL entered into the CRADA to investigate whether the Guard Tower® intrusion detection system could be adapted to irregular terrain. CRREL researchers investigate the impact of weather and terrain on sensor systems installed at the CRREL intrusion detection system site, and generate guidance on the selection and operation of intrusion detection systems to avoid environmentally caused security vulnerabilities.

Penetration tests were recently conducted and witnessed at the CRREL site in Hanover, New Hampshire. Results of those tests are available from Zareba Security by calling 763-509-7437 or by request from the company website at www.ZarebaSecurity.com.

A CRADA is a means by which a Federal laboratory and the public or private sector can partner on a nonexclusive basis and collaborate in technology development. The intent of this CRADA was to increase the security options available to the Army for unimproved sites. As policy, neither collaboration under a CRADA, nor release of testing results, constitutes ERDC endorsement of Zareba Security or the Guard Tower® intrusion detection system.

“We are pleased to have had the opportunity to work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to modify and enhance the intrusion detection capabilities of our Guard Tower® perimeter protection system. As a result of the work done by both the Army Corps and Zareba Security, we believe the system has been significantly enhanced in the areas of environmental robustness and penetration hardness,” said Jerry Grabowski, President and CEO.

Zareba Security customizes perimeter security solutions to affordably meet each installation’s security requirements. Potential applications include airports, oil refineries, remote utilities sites, high value storage sites, correctional facilities as well as other commercial or government buildings and locations. Products include the Guard Tower® perimeter protection system and the Induced Pulse™ electric fence system. Zareba’s patent-pending Guard Tower® system can detect breaches to within 10 feet, while providing the option to integrate closed circuit cameras, directing video footage of the breach point directly to a central monitoring system.

“With significant experience in the electronic fence systems industry, we believe we are positioned to take advantage of opportunities in the security market,” said Grabowski. “The heightened awareness of the need for greater security, from government to commercial applications, presents exciting possibilities. We are also proud to design and manufacture our Guard Tower® perimeter security products in the U.S.A.”
